John Scott, 79, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Warsaw, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at Pines of Sarasota Nursing Home.
John was born on June 1, 1944, in Elkhart, the son of the late Maurice D. and Sarah E. Cormany Scott.
He was a graduate of International Business College majoring in business administration and accounting. He was a financial planner for 53 years at Scott Financial Organization Inc. John enjoyed traveling and he loved showing quarter horses. He was a member of the Optimist Club and CASA in Warsaw.
John is survived by daughters: Sonya (Fred) Farhoumand, of Fort Wayne; Anne Stoneburner, of Warsaw; and Melanie (Derek) Tolson, of Milford; son, Brian (Stephanie) Scott, of Warsaw; brother, Jim (Cathy) Scott; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services in celebration of John’s life will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Andrea Texeira officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
