Local High School Sports Recaps For Wednesday, September 20

Boys Soccer
Tippecanoe Valley at Oregon-Davis

Tippecanoe Valley got on track in a big way Wednesday evening, defeating Oregon-Davis 10-1 on the road. The Vikings are now 8-4-1 this season.
The game was called after 60 minutes due to mercy rule. Eric Eikenberry had himself a day to remember, scoring six goals in the game. Gio Arriage added three goals of his own, while Carson Craft had one goal and three assists.
After facing off with Lakeland Christian on Thursday evening, the Vikings will take on South Bend Washington on September 30 for the team’s regular season finale.
Mississinewa at Manchester
Manchester boys soccer made it seven wins in a row Wednesday evening, defeating Mississinewa 3-0 at home. The Squires are now 10-2-1 this season, playing their best ball of the year with sectionals fast approaching.
Manchester was led by two goals from Tyler McLain and one by Diego Munoz. Nathaniel Miller had two assists while Caleb Sautter added one. Evan McLaughlin made seven saves in net to preserve the shutout.
Manchester hosts Maconaquah on Monday for the team’s next game.
Girls Soccer
Manchester at Maconquah

Manchester girls soccer continued a solid stretch of play with its fourth win in a row Wednesday, defeating Maconaquah 1-1 (3-1) on penalty kicks. The Lady Squires have now won four in a row, and sit at 9-4 this season.
Manchester will look to make it five wins in a row Monday evening at Logansport.
Volleyball
Argos at Triton

The wins continue to pile up for Triton volleyball, as the Lady Trojans defeated Argos 3-0 (25-6, 25-8, 25-4) for the team’s sixteenth win in a row. Triton is now 17-1 this season.
Addyson Viers had 12 kills and seven aces. Jenna Bules had seven digs while Hannah Snyder added 17 assists. Avery Viers had two blocks.
The Lady Trojans have a massive game on Tuesday at Pioneer, a contest that could decide the Hoosier North Athletic Conference championship.
Boys Tennis
Warsaw/Wawasee at NLC Championships

The first day of the Northern Lakes Conference tennis championships were held Wednesday at Mishawaka. Plenty of local athletes had good showings.
It was a clean sweep for Warsaw, as Charlie Norton, Ted Grandon, Henry Norton, No. 1 doubles Khareus Miller and Drew Ryser, as well as No. 2 doubles Caleb Smith and Patrick Stump all won their matches to advance to the second round of the tournament. For Wawasee, No. 1 singles Joey Harper and No. 2 singles Kane Dukes each earned wins to advance.
The second round of the tournament was played Thursday night. Results in tomorrow’s paper.
