• 3:56 p.m. Thursday - William Hicks Derrickson III, 40, of 1 EMS B37 Lane, #5711, Warsaw, arrested for driving a motor vehicle while suspended with a prior suspension. Bond: $450.
• 11:55 p.m. Thursday - Jose Luis Cuahuizo, 27, of 2441 W. CR 250S, #71, Warsaw, arrested on three charges of felony failure to appear. No bond set.
• 7:54 a.m. Friday - Paul Douglas Hodge, 58, of 365 E. CR 800S, Claypool, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. No bond set.
• 1:33 p.m. Friday - Austin Michael Sherburne, 23, of 205 E. Sycamore St., Silver Lake, arrested for domestic battery. Bond: $6,000.

• 8:35 p.m. Thursday - West Market Street, 200 feet west of Seventh Street, Pierceton. Car went off road. Driver: Enrique M. Marrufo, 43, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. Pierceton Police Department investigated.
• 9:03 p.m. Thursday - South Ind. 13, 300 feet south of East Old 30, Pierceton. Van hit deer. Driver: Shawn M. Mason, 32, East Steven Drive, Warsaw. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. KCSO.

Northridge Downs Warsaw For Conference Championship
On the final day of the regular season, the Warsaw and Northridge girls soccer teams met at the Tiger Soccer Complex to determine the Northern Lakes Conference champions. It was a grueling, hard fought game that saw the Lady Tigers try to crawl back from an early deficit, but in the end, it would be the Lady Raiders hoisting the conference crown after a 2-1 win.

Warsaw Narrowly Edges Wawasee In Sectional Opener
Warsaw and Wawasee, two of the top three boys tennis teams in the Northern Lakes Conference this fall, met once again on Thursday for the final time this season in the opening round of the IHSAA boys tennis sectional at Warsaw. After five grueling matches, the Tigers were able to escape with a narrow 3-2 victory.

Michael Lutes
Michael Lutes, 76, of Warsaw, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at his home.

Ragan Appoints Rovenstine To County Election Board
Austin Rovenstine is the new member of the county’s election board after being appointed Thursday by Republican Central Committee Chair Mike Ragan.
