Thomas E. Roberts Jr.

September 15, 2023 at 5:38 p.m.

Thomas E. Roberts Jr., 64, of Pierceton, passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at home.
He was born on July 5, 1959, the son of Thomas E. and Delores Lotz Roberts Sr. in Warsaw. He married Brenda Roberts in 1999; she preceded him in death in 2022.
He is survived by his mother, Delores Roberts, of Warsaw; seven children: Jessica (Steven) Phiri, of Fort Wayne; Sarah Roberts, of Warsaw; Thomas (Juanita) Roberts III, of Pierceton; Rachel (Robert See) Roberts, Dawn (Adam Hall) Allen and Donald Allen and Clyde (Stephanie Wood) Allen, all of Warsaw; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lori (Dan) Tyner, of Larwill; and Sonya Roberts, of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his wife; father; a brother, Mitchell Roberts; and his very special dog, Sunny.
Tom was quite the guy! He worked as a plumber for many years and drove truck across the United States. Tom thoroughly enjoyed the job and enjoyed telling stories from his travels. He loved all kinds of music and played the guitar when he was younger. Tom was the light and sound man for the band Wrong Side Out and was very proud of it. He never lost a round of “Name That Song.”
Tom simply had a way with words and always had a quip for any occasion. He was always prepared to charm the ladies with poetry and could “sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.” He knew a little too much trivia and never missed jeopardy. He enjoyed having coffee with the old guys and spending time with his second family, Jeff, Harry and the other guys at Holle’s Salvage Yard. Tom was a very hard worker and kept working long after he “retired.” He would fix anything for anyone, including their hearts.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place with Heritage Funeral & Cremation Services in Warsaw. The family will host “a celebration of Tom’s life” at a later date since he insisted that he didn’t want a “funeral.”
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.heritage-fcs.com.
