Local High School Sports Recaps For Thursday, September 14

Volleyball
Plymouth at Warsaw

It was another impressive night for Warsaw volleyball on Thursday, as the Lady Tigers defeated Plymouth 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-11) for their third straight win. Warsaw is now 15-6 this season, 4-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference.
Maggie Hollon led the team in kills with 12. Leah Henderson added eleven and two blocks. Avery Hoeppner had five aces and Kenzie Chivington had 25 assists. Ellie Hepler led the team in digs with 12.
The Lady Tigers are back in action Tuesday night against Fort Wayne Carroll at the Tiger Den.
Lewis Cass at Manchester
Manchester earned its second straight win on Thursday, defeating Lewis Cass 3-2 (25-22, 25-18, 17-25, 20-25, 15-7) at home. The Lady Squires are now 7-9 this season, 4-1 in the Three Rivers Conference.
For the second straight game, Myla Crozier led the team in kills with 14. Paxton Baker had two aces and 12 digs. Peyton Ream had 20 digs and 26 assists.
The Lady Squires are back in action Thursday against Maconaquah.
Southwood at Whitko
Whitko was unable to come away with a conference win on Thursday, falling 3-0 (13-25, 9-25, 13-25) to Southwood at home. It was the first Three Rivers Conference loss of the season for the Lady ‘Cats, who are now 10-7, 4-1 in the TRC.
Whitko will look to pick up some wins at the Wawasee Invitational on Saturday.
Triton at Bethany Christian
The wins continue to pile up for Triton volleyball as the Lady Trojans defeated Bethany Christian 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-12) on the road for their fourteenth straight win. Triton is now 15-1 this fall.
Addyson Viers had 14 kills to lead the team once again. Hannah Snyder had 18 assists. Mya Dacis had five aces while Lena Doll added 15 digs. Macie Hensley and Davis each had four blocks.
The Lady Trojans play their next game Tuesday night at home against Winamac.
Boys Soccer
Lakeland Christian at LaVille

Lakeland Christian continued an impressive stretch of play on Thursday evening, defeating LaVille 4-0 on the road. The Cougars are now 7-4 this season.
All four LCA goals were scored by Jashawn Zielasko. Simon Avey assisted on two of the four goals, with Mack Nicholson and Adrian Bowdler picking up assists as well.
The Cougars face off against Peru at home on Saturday.
Boys Tennis
NorthWood at Warsaw

Warsaw tennis earned yet another win this season on Thursday evening, defeating NorthWood 4-1 at home.
All three singles players earned wins for Warsaw, led by No. 1 Charlie Norton and his 6-2, 6-3 win. Ted Grandon won his No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-4, while Henry Norton won the No. 3 match 6-1, 6-2. The No. 1 doubles pairing of Khareus Miller and Drew Ryser won 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 to round it out for the Tigers.
Warsaw will compete at the Wawasee Invitational on Saturday.
