CLAYPOOL – A Claypool pole barn and its contents were a total loss after a fire Sunday.
Claypool Fire Department was dispatched at 5:30 p.m. to 1100 W. CR 700S to a pole barn fire, said Fire Chief Rick Hurley. The barn was owned by Terry and Deborah Kreft.
Upon arrival to the scene, the barn was fully engulfed. He said the barn was a 30-foot by 40-foot building and had items like air conditioners and propane tanks inside.
The barn was a total loss, he said, and burnt to the ground. The cause of the fire as of Monday is unknown.
There were no injuries reported.
Fire personnel left the scene a little after 11 p.m.
Sidney, Winona Lake, Pierceton and Silver Lake fire departments assisted.
