Vicki S. Howard

October 31, 2023 at 7:15 p.m.

Vicki S. Howard, 77, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.
Vicki was born on Aug. 26, 1946, in Warsaw, to John “Red” and Ethel Sensibaugh Bolinger. She graduated from Atwood High School, and while in school, worked at a local nursing home where she gained an understanding of the passion people have to help and serve others.
She would work at Playtime Products in Atwood, where she would meet Junior Howard. The two would wed on Jan. 21, 1967. They would welcome two children and Vicki would choose to be a stay-at-home mother and care for the household.
Vicki enjoyed doing puzzles, word searches and watching the birds outside. The couple enjoyed traveling on their time off from work. Even through her health pains from her arthritis, Vicki always tried her best to be involved with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Samantha) Howard, of Silver Lake; and her daughter, Holly (David) Ousley, of Warsaw; four grandchildren: Ean (Julie) Howard, Aric (Emily) Howard, Ryanne Ousley and Karrie Ousley; great-grandchildren, Mavrick and Beatrix; and siblings, Dale Bolinger and Melodie Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 26, 2020, and her parents.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to her friends Robin, Jim and Irene as well as thank the staff at Miller’s Merry Manor, who cared for her like a family member. Their love and compassion are truly felt by the residents and their families. It takes a special calling to do this line of work, as a passion and not just as a job.
“There’s no perfect relationship. It’s how you accept the imperfections that makes it perfect.”
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Memorial contributions can be made to Kosciusko County Cancer Fund c/o K-21 Health Foundation, 1101 Park Avenue, Winona Lake, IN 46590.
