Lake City Powder Coating, which was established in 1996, has announced the acquisition of TGR Finishing of Kokomo.
TGR has been a powder coating specialist producing quality coatings since 1982. The official announcement was made at the Warsaw campus of Seymour Midwest Tools. The move to acquire TGR started in March 2023 as Lake City Powder Coating recognized a need to better serve their growing customer base in northern and central Indiana. The acquisition was finalized on Sept. 25, according to a provided news release Wednesday.
“We are excited to add the experience, professionalism and capabilities of TGR to our growing business,” said Joshua Bailey, president of Lake City Powder Coating. “This acquisition allows us to better serve our expanding customer base and provides tremendous opportunity for growth in the Central Indiana region.”
Combined, the two locations boast nearly 70,000 square feet of production space, offering multiple auto-coat lines, custom media blast, custom batch coating service with lengths up to 24 feet, as well as pick-up and delivery service. The Kokomo plant will operate under the Lake City Powder Coating name.
“I am thrilled about the recent addition of our new Kokomo operation,” said Bill Henthorn, CEO of Lake City Powder Coating. “This strategic move opens up incredible opportunities and promises a future filled with innovation and growth. It’s an exciting time for us!”
With a combined 68 years in the coating industry, processing specialty parts and creating proprietary methods for the best quality is what separates Lake City Powder Coating from their competition, the news release states. They work with their customers to create solutions that fit their business needs. From single custom parts to regular production runs, they ensure the best quality finished product possible with on-time delivery.
