Judith ‘Judy’ Elaine Jordan

Judith “Judy” Elaine Jordan, a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, passed away at 12:34 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake at the age of 80.
She was born on March 31, 1943, in Ashland, Ohio, to Julia Leona Gaddis Jordan and John Edward Jordan.
She was a 1961 graduate of Ashland High School, graduated from Grace College in Winona Lake earning her bachelor’s degree in education, and later earned her master’s in education from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne. She moved to Kosciusko County in 1960 and was a middle school teacher for 25 years in Columbia City. Judy taught hundreds of children over the years and was a kind and patient teacher who always loved her job. In her later years she worked as a bus driver for Grace Village.
Judy was also known as the “Apron Lady” doing programs on different aprons. Judy was a member of WinSome Women, Delta Kappa Gamma a sorority for educators, loved to travel, enjoyed the outdoors and throughout her life was an avid reader. She attended Grace Village Chapel and Warsaw Community Church. She was a friend to many and will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her sister, Margaret Anderson, Ashland, Ohio; brother, Rodger Jordan, Lake City, Fla.; sister-in-law, Gail Jordan, Bullhead City, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Janet Jordan; brother, Dick Jordan; and her sister-in-law, Velda Jordan.
Judy’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26 at Grace Village Retirement Community in the Grace Village Chapel, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, and officiated by Pastor Jeff Pfeifer. She will be laid to rest at Ashland Cemetery, in Ashland, Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
