LEESBURG — Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for its new member, Dines Mediation and Services, on Friday.
Dines Mediation and Services is a multifaceted business, hoping to fill in gaps of need within the community.
"Mediation covers anything domestic so situations like divorce, custody, prenuptial or post-nuptial agreements are all things we come in and help with conflict resolution. We have even helped settle disputes with neighbors about fences and such," said owner Amanda Dines. "I am a state-registered mediator and have done training to also become a licensed private investigator."
The services offered are private investigation, supervised parenting time and process serving, also known as serving legal papers. The private investigating encompasses both companies or individuals looking to get some answers, whether that be adulterers or employee misuse of company property.
Dines has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Trine University and will receive her master's degree in criminal justice in the spring.
When asked why she decided to open her business in Kosciusko County, she said, "I saw and heard a need for mediators in the county. I have lived here since 2018 and love the county. Since moving here, I have gotten involved in the Court Appointed Special Advocates, also known as CASA. This has led me to see firsthand how needed these services are, especially supervised parenting time, which I offer."
Dines said, "I want to offer an easy route for people to achieve conflict resolution."
