Rumors Of War

October 13, 2023 at 1:00 a.m.

Editor, Times-Union:
More than a “rumor.” The latest being the Israeli/Palestine conflict.
And there are wars in many other areas of our world that most of us are unaware.
Thoughts that come to my mind are the following that I and many others followed on our TVs like our horrific 9/11 time; the Benghazi drama, the continuing influx of immigrants into our borders with 250 known terrorists among them of recent time; the “protesting” of Arabs in NYC cheering for the Palestinians in that war.
Now we have no speaker of the House of Representatives to enact any necessary measures. The White House is electrified in blue but as of this writing no word on any of the present circumstances with a new war paramount.
Surely congress can get themselves together, both Democrats and Republicans, and soon.
Different subject entirely, but ever so important: LACK OF ATTENDANCE TO SCHOOL. Wonderful article on the subject in our Warsaw Times newspaper. Now here might well be something YOU can do about. Be it mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, friend see to it that your student attends unless really, really ill. Our statistics on literacy are embarrassing. Perhaps helping with homework if they are homebound but still able to do it.
