Manchester Schools Considers Tony Cassel For Superintendent
October 11, 2023 at 5:43 p.m.
NORTH MANCHESTER - Manchester Community Schools Board of Trustees is considering Tony Cassel, one of 12 applicants, for the superintendent position.
Cassel is a 1985 graduate of Manchester High School and is currently the superintendent of Hamilton Community Schools.
At Tuesday's meeting, board member Adam Penrod said a new superintendent would begin their duties Dec. 1 if the hiring process continues on schedule.
During public comments, the board heard from Brooke Vanderpool, who said she has not received a reply from a message she sent to school board members. Vanderpool disagreed with the way the board excluded former superintendent Kyle Wieland from hiring consideration.
In other business:
• Hagerman Construction presented an update on the construction project.
• Interim Superintendent Jeff Stephens presented on the schools' revenue streams, debt service and different funding sources.
The board will next meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 14.
