Via Credit Union Launches Student Branch At Jefferson Elementary School

Via Credit Union announced the opening of its Student Branch at Jefferson Elementary School, aimed at promoting financial literacy among young students.
The branch opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the student workers. During the event, the $10 ribbon prize was awarded to Silas Fox, the winner of the monthly drawing, according to a news release from Via Credit union.
The primary goal of the Student Branch is to install savings habits in children from an early age. Student workers are able to open new accounts and take deposits from students of all ages.
"We are thrilled to empower the youth with essential financial knowledge. Our Student Branch reflects our commitment to fostering financial responsibility in the community,” said Chief Marketing Officer Michelle Peterson.
Parents interested in their children to start saving at the Jefferson Student Branch are encouraged to complete a permission slip and return along with the initial deposit. The Student Branch is open every Friday before school.
