Valley School Board Hears Construction Update

AKRON – Scott Rogers, project manager with Skillman Corp., gave the Tippecanoe Valley School Board an update on the high school construction project Thursday.
Work that has happened in the last month included completing a bearing wall on the south side of the auditorium, pouring a portion of the elevated slab on the south side of the auditorium and set air handling units on pads in the mechanical mezzanine.
Fanning Howey Project Manager Michael Schipp said some structural damage was found. Schipp gave his approval to proceed with work to fix the damage in some areas such as the tunnel. Schipp said he’d have more details about it at a later point.
Things that will be started in the upcoming weeks include starting metal stud framing for the mezzanine walls, start roofing on the mezzanine, start the face brick on the locker room addition exterior, excavate for a fire tank, set steel for the pool addition and set air handling units on the pool addition.
Rogers said construction should start for the agricultural renovation in January.
