‘Coco’ To Be Shown At PAC Saturday
October 2, 2023 at 6:32 p.m.

The Performing Arts Center at Warsaw Community High School presents a free family movie night with a screening of “Coco” at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the PAC, 1 Tiger Lane, Warsaw.
The Disney Pixar film was inspired by Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican holiday. The story follows 12-year-old Miguel, an aspiring musician whose family has banned music, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools. The film was released in 2017 and is rated PG for thematic events.
“This really marks the return of movies to the PAC,” said Kris Lake, Performing Arts Center director. “Movies have been shown in the past and we really wanted to recreate that experience of bringing the entire family together with a film that all ages will enjoy.”
“Coco” was chosen as the first film as it has a Halloween-type of theme. When the lead character “Miguel” accidentally enters the Land of the Dead, the charming trickster Hector becomes an unexpected friend who helps Miguel uncover the mysteries behind his family’s stories and traditions — and return him to the Land of the Living.
“This movie really is one of the gems from the recent Disney Pixar library,” said Lake. “The film is very visually pleasing and it’s got an incredible storyline that takes a family-friendly approach to questions of culture, family, life and death.”
The song “Remember Me” won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The film also features favorite sing-along tunes like “Un Poco Loco,” “The World is Es Mi Familia,” “Much Needed Advice” and “Everyone Knows Juanita.”
Moviegoers can purchase snacks and concessions for a fee, with proceeds benefiting the WCHS Theater Department.
Admission is free and all seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
