Cross Country
Tippecanoe Valley at Bluffton Invite

It was another weekend to remember for Tippecanoe Valley senior runner Chesnee Miller, who broke her own school record for the fourth time this season alone with a 19:02 time while taking first place at the Bluffton Invite. In 10 races this season, Miller has finished in first place in six of them. Cross country sectionals begin on October 14, and Miller will be an athlete to watch as she makes a push for state.
Warsaw/Wawasee at NLC Championships
It was another great day for the Warsaw cross country teams at the NLC Championships on Saturday, as both the boys and girls finished in second place behind Northridge. By winning both Super Dual meets earlier in the season, the Tigers split the conference championship with the Raiders. The Wawasee boys finished eleventh while the Lady Warriors took 14th.
On the boys side, Warsaw got yet another top-five finish out of Jackson Gackenheimer, who took fourth with a time of 16:00.12. Joining Jackson in the top 10 was Tyler Swartz, who finished ninth at 16:16.23. Tyler Mimnaugh finished 15th while Noah McPhail finished 25th. For Wawasee, Mason Worrell was the team’s highest finisher in 46th place. Hunter Allen was not far behind at 48.
Joey Rastrelli took first place overall in the girls race, beating the second place finisher by nearly 30 seconds with a time of 18:18.08. Her sister Samantha Rastrelli also finished in the top 10, finishing in seventh with a time of 19:46.06. Marrisa Howett and Eden Metz finished 14th and 15th. Wawasee’s Mia Hodgson had a great race, taking 8th place with a 19:51.05 time.
Cross country sectionals begin on October 14.
Boys Tennis
Warsaw/Tippecanoe Valley/Whitko at Sectional

Warsaw was able to win two matches in one day Saturday, defeating Columbia City 4-1 in the semifinals and Tippecanoe Valley 5-0 in the championship match to take home the sectional trophy on their home court. The Vikings defeated Whitko 5-0 in the semifinals to advance to the championship match. Also advancing to the regional as individuals are Wawasee’s Joey Harper and Columbia City’s Alex Rangos.
Charlie Norton battled hard in his No. 1 singles match, defeating Valley’s Cameron Manuel 6-1, 7-6 (7-3). Ted Grandon had a good day at No. 2 singles, winning his second match 6-2, 6-0. No. 3 singles player Henry Norton continued his outstanding run of play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. The No. 1 doubles match between Khareus Miller/Drew Ryser and Ian Cooksey/William Mellott was a hard fought game, with Miller and Ryser pulling off a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 win.
The Tigers will compete at the NorthWood regional on Tuesday against Penn.
Football
Tippecanoe Valley at West Lafayette

One of the most anticipated games in recent memory went in favor of the Vikings on Friday night, as Tippecanoe Valley rolled past West Lafayette 35-13 in a battle of two top ten teams. Valley remains undefeated and now sits at 7-0 this fall.
It was another huge night for Nate Parker, who finished with 236 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Parker also made an interception on defense. Brandon Stiles also added 72 yards and a score. Quarterback Cody Eastgate was 8-9 passing for 70 yards. Wade Jones caught three balls for 46 yards.
Tippecanoe Valley will look to remain undefeated at John Glenn on Friday night.
North Judson at Triton
Triton won its third game in a row Friday night, defeating North Judson 40-7 at home. The Trojans are now 5-2 this season, 4-1 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference. Triton will look to make it four wins in a row on the road at Knox on Friday.
