CLAYPOOL - A new part-time town marshal, Paul Mullins, was sworn in at Tuesday's town council meeting.
Mullins replaces Ben Sanders who submitted his resignation in August.
The salary for the position was set at $25,000 per year.
The council voted to supply letters to local residents Charles Baldridge and Bradley Prater for necessary variances in their home construction projects.
Baldridge is raising his home on Section Street by 4 feet, adding a new basement and a wraparound porch.
Prater rebuilt a home on Harrison Street and seeks to hook back up to the town's utilities.
Borden will deliver new trash and recycling totes the week of Dec. 20 and a welcome packet will arrive in residents' mail explaining trash and recycling pickup for the coming year.
Trash will be picked up every Friday. Recycling will be picked up every other Friday.
Chris Harrison, of Commonwealth Engineers, provided an update on grant funding for upcoming wastewater projects.
The council scheduled an executive session at 7 p.m. Dec. 14. The next regular meeting is at 7 p.m. Dec. 19.
