Members of Warsaw AAUW met Saturday for the annual silent auction to raise funds for the AAUW scholarship awarded by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
Guests present were Jeanne Coldren and Lisa Lynch. Lynch, the recipient of the 2023 AAUW scholarship, expressed her gratitude and reported that she is working on a master’s degree in art education through the University of Florida, according to a news release from Warsaw AAUW.
A decision was made to transfer some current funds into the principal scholarship fund at the Foundation, in order to increase the scholarship amount in the future. Following a short business meeting, door prizes were awarded to Coldren and Lynch, and the silent auction was concluded.
AAUW promotes equity and lifelong education by awarding grants, fellowships and scholarships. Members include those with an associate’s degree or further education, and new members are always welcome.
