Patsy Bucher Sparks, 81, of Mentone, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at  her home surrounded by family.
Patsy was born on Sept. 1, 1942, the daughter of Frank and Charlotte Hamilton Bucher. She graduated from Laketon High School.
She married the late William Owens on Feb. 9, 1963, and then the late German Sparks on Nov. 30, 2012.
She was the owner of Lantern Café in Silver Lake, serving the community for 21 years. She liked cooking for her family, loved listening to Elvis and enjoyed tending to her flowers and gardening. Patsy never liked animals, but took a liking to her daughter Carol’s cat Sabre. She treasured being with her grandchildren and family.
Pasty grew up in the Silver Creek Church of God. She later would attend Light House Pentecostal Church, Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, the Family Worship Center and lastly New Creation Fellowship. She loved her churches and made many friends along the way. She enjoyed helping others, gave to many local organizations and would on many occasions buy groceries for others when they were in need.
Patsy will be lovingly remembered by her children: Sheryl Carnes, of North Manchester; Jeffery (Lori) Owens, of Silver Lake; Carol (Bryan) Severns, of Mentone; and Shelly (Wes) Yarian, of Akron; stepchildren, Brenda Gaerte, of North Manchester; and Duane Owens, of Warsaw; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steven (Cindy) Bucher, of Silver Lake.
She was preceded in passing by both parents; her husbands, William and German; great-grandchild Emmit Severns and sister Jane Chaney.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Patsy’s life will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 in the funeral chapel with Rick Johnson and Wedstel Shephard officiating. Interment will follow in Silver Creek Cemetery.
