Clown Shows

Where in the world are the “normal” Republican politicians today? You know, the ones who used to promote law and order … the ones who rarely made news headlines because they did their jobs and served their constituents and acted appropriately and sanely? The ones whose salaries we taxpayers pay to make our lives better? I think there still may be some around somewhere, maybe hiding under their desks or behind the curtains? Or, God forbid, they’ve gone brain dead and can be found staring blindly into space as deer in headlights.
In light of the very recent and not so recent bizarre, inappropriate, mindless, juvenile actions of way too many Washington Republicans, I am beginning to wonder if maybe Covid 19 actually damaged more people’s brain cells than we realized. Consider the following incidents:
• A Republican who publicly made theater attendance a Rated XXX experience.
• Two Republicans squaring off in the middle of a hearing and attempting to “duke it out” on the spot while trading juvenile threats.
• A Republican allegedly shoving and elbowing a colleague while passing in a hallway.
• A Republican drawing cartoons depicting the murder of colleagues.
• A Republican passing himself off as, well, nothing that he really is — just to get elected.
• A Republican investigated for sex trafficking.
• A Republican calling another Republican names describing women of ill repute.
• A Republican appointing himself the resident tattletale (maybe to hopefully give Jim Jordan, who apparently has nothing better to do, some new subject matter for yet another Pointless hearing)
• A Republican who figuratively stomps his feet and crosses his arms in stubborn refusal to pass necessary bills to keep our military strong because he can’t have his way.
• A Republican who wants to impeach Joe Biden for something he himself did …. and neither action was illegal.
• A Republican who displayed pornographic photos during a televised hearing quite obviously for shock value.
• Republicans who loudly heckled the current President during — of all things — a State of the Union address.
• Republicans who have verbally promised they would “boot out” anyone who worked with Democrats (so much for bipartisanship).
• Republicans who have held closed hearings (no Dems allowed) with questionable “experts” in attempts to “prove” wrongdoings that do not exist.
I could go on, but I have a 500-word limit so must stop here. Comparing the Republican Congress to juvenile middle schoolers or clown shows has done a grave disservice to both children and clowns. Since we taxpayers are essentially the “bosses,” why can’t we fire some of these slackers? Oh, wait. We can. We can vote!
Note: A few Democrat Congress people have some embarrassments as well, just not as juvenile and not 500 words worth.
