Richard Beryl Stouder

BOURBON – Richard Beryl Stouder, 87, of Warsaw, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Byron Center in Fort Wayne.
Richard “Dick” was born April 15, 1936, in Etna Green, the son of Clarence and Bertha Stouder. Growing up, he was active in sports and any outdoor activities. Richard and Janet Ruth Taylor were married Sept. 23, 1963. He was very active in the local community and served active military duty standing guard for President Kennedy’s inauguration. He was a member of the Etna Green Lions Club and an elder at the Etna Green Church of Christ. Richard worked for Abel TV installing and servicing TV towers, both residential and commercial. He later worked at Chore-Time Brock until he retired. He loved golfing, bowling, coaching softball and track and just spending time at the lake with a fire.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Jennifer and spouse Jason Hefner; and seven grandchildren: Anna, Timothy and spouse Caitlyn, Daniel and Benjamin LaRue and Justin, Michael and spouse Madeline and Matthew Hefner; and a sister, Gloria Stackhouse, of Virgina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet Stouder; his daughter, Carmen LaRue; and nine siblings: Robert, Glen, Velorus, Dallas, Leonard, Jim, Cecil, Donna Bell Blackford and Marion Hiatt.
Most importantly, he loved his family, and they loved him. He will be missed for the rest of their lives.
Visitation will be held at Etna Green Church of Christ located at 206 W. Broadway St., Etna Green, on Monday, Nov. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. with the funeral service, and a time of fellowship following the visitation. The family will lay Richard to rest at Etna Green Cemetery in a private ceremony.
