Warsaw Community Schools and OrthoWorx announced the upcoming launch of the Regional Advanced Manufacturing Pathway (RAMP) that will be available to students during the 2024-25 school year.
In partnership with four local manufacturers - Instrumental Machine & Development, Medartis, PreMedTec and Zimmer Biomet - the program will be offered to a select group of junior and senior manufacturing pathway students at the Warsaw Area Career Center (WACC). Through the program, students will have the opportunity to gain fundamental manufacturing skills, hands-on experience and an internship opportunity with one of the industry partners, according to a news release from OrthoWorx.

Paige Troyer, human resource generalist at PreMedTec, said, “We are thrilled to be a driving force behind RAMP, shaping the future of education by empowering students with hands-on experience in orthopedic manufacturing. Together, we build not just pathways, but bridges to a skilled workforce that is the backbone of our community’s future success.”
The mission of this program is to engage high school students in immersive learning experiences, through high-tech, industry integrated curriculum, preparing them for successful and rewarding careers in advanced manufacturing. Students will gain greater visibility to career options with the manufacturing sector in the region and the opportunities that exist within the established industry of orthopedics right here in the community.
“The WACC is excited to provide our students with a unique blend of academic learning and real-world experience,” said Ben Barkey, Warsaw Area Career Center principal. “This collaboration with leading local manufacturers is a significant step in bridging the gap between education and industry, offering our juniors and seniors an invaluable opportunity to develop hands-on skills and gain insights into the world of advanced manufacturing, setting them on a path to success in a rapidly evolving industry.”
