Wawasee at Manchester

Two local teams began their 2023-24 seasons against each other on Wednesday night, as Wawasee defeated Manchester 37-30 to start the campaign off with a win.
The Lady Warriors got out to a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, leading by 14 going into the fourth quarter. No stats were available for Wawasee. For Manchester, Gracie Lauer led the team with nine points and eight rebounds. Emma Walker had eight points and nine rebounds, while Brookelynn Buzzard added eight points as well.
Wawasee (1-0) plays its home opener on Saturday against Prairie Heights, while Manchester (0-1) stays at home to take on Triton on Friday night.
Triton at John Glenn
Triton began its girls basketball season with a loss on Wednesday night, as the Lady Trojans fell 42-26 to John Glenn on the road to begin at 0-1.
No statistics were available for Triton. The Lady Trojans will return to action Friday night on the road at Manchester.

The Vikings started slow, mounted a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, but were unable to come away victorious in a 35-30 loss.
