A property at 1508 Ranch Road, Warsaw, received a continuation on the city's code enforcement agenda due to the owner reverting to old ways of collecting junk in his yard.
After last month's meeting, Mike Phebus's case was set to be dismissed after he cooperated in selling lawn mowers on his property. However, after Code Enforcement Officer Dana Hewitt received a call about Phebus collecting lawn mowers again, the dismissal was canceled. Hewitt said he went to the residence the morning of Oct. 31, but was unable to get in contact with Phebus.
The owner of Shafer Rentals, Sherri Makinson, provided an update for two properties. 212 Wedrick Drive is almost ready for final inspection and should be completed in the next two weeks. 1017 E. Fort Wayne St. has an inspection scheduled for Nov. 1 to look at the plumbing, duct work and gas lines that have been installed. Makinson said this property could tentatively be completed in the next two months.
Building Commissioner Ray Behling gave an update on the 3521 Lake City Highway property, saying they had made significant progress, with only the manager's apartment, some bathrooms and the laundry room to be finished up.
KS&F Properties Representative Mary Lou Shepherd gave an update on the 225 N. Fort Wayne Ave. property, saying the contractor was buying the siding and would have the project completed by Nov. 4 and 5.
Dewayne Buzs and Mario Duran gave an update on the 317 N. Union St. property. Duran stated most everything had been completed and they are now finishing up flooring and placing doors.
The next code hearing will be Dec. 5.
