In a brief meeting, the Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission approved a final plat of South Shore Green in Syracuse. The approval was made during the commission’s regular meeting Wednesday.
Local attorney Steve Snyder, representing the South Shore Green Home Owners Association, explained the petition is to split one lot into two. The lots will be under the same restrictions as the rest of South Shore Green.
The commission agreed to continue the case of Eric and Cara Erlewein to its Dec. 6 meeting. The couple are petitioning to rezone 20.33 acres from an agricultural district to an agricultural II district. The property is located in Turkey Creek Township
Snyder, who represented the couple, explained the surveyor was unable to create a legal description in time for the meeting.
Also continued to Dec. 6 was a petition by Ron Baumgartner to rezone 7.16 acres from a commercial district to an industrial II district. The property is located in downtown Milford in Van Buren Township. The case was continued due to Baumgartner attending to a family matter.
The commission heard from a local attorney representing Alex Valentine, who owns property in the unincorporated town of Wooster. Valentine would like the north side of an alleyway vacated. His attorney explained after purchasing two lots, Valentine determined a barn currently lays in the right of way.
The commission approved the request to be forwarded to the county commissioners with the recommendation the area planning office contact the property owners on the south side of the alley.
The matter will be brought before the county commissioners during their Nov. 21 meeting.
