The Warsaw Area Career Center recently held two celebrations to show appreciation to area employers for providing work-based learning opportunities for their students.

The first event was held last Friday at The Roost for the full-year aviation, business, engineering, healthcare and IT interns and their supervisors.

The annual Work-Based Learning Banquet is planned each year by the students who decorate the tables, design certificates for their employers, provide a dessert buffet and greet at the event.

With input from classroom instructors Angie Heinsman, Andrea Miller and Scott Schramm, employers were able to nominate students for the work-based learning programs top awards: Student of the Year, Excellence, Professional Growth and Positive Attitude.

The second appreciation event was held on Tuesday at the Blue Apron restaurant located at the Warsaw Area Career Center.  The event was intended to thank the local automotive services business partners who provided work-based learning for the Advanced Automotive students during the second semester. This was a new program for the WACC this year.

Awards were presented to the Automotive Services Business Partner of the Year and to students for Most Hours and Most Improved.
