PAVING PROJECT

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

    Sealed Bids for the construction of the 2023 Community Crossings – Paving Project will be received, by City of Nappanee, at the office of the Clerk-Treasurer, Nappanee Municipal Center, 300 W. Lincoln Street, Nappanee, Indiana 46550, until 3:30 p.m. local time on June 12 , 2023, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

The project consists of constructing the following:

    The project includes but is not limited to milling and resurfacing and the construction of ADA curb ramps throughout various streets in the City as identified in the plans. The project also includes the reconstruction of North Madison Street from East Market Street to East Walnut Street. Additional work includes paving and pavement markings for the Wellfield Soccer Complex.

    Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be as shown in the Bid Form.

    The Contract Documents, Specifications and Drawings may be publicly viewed at the office of Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C.

    The Contract Documents, Specifications and Plans are available for examination at the office of the Engineer, Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C., 525 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana 46601 or on the Michiana Builders Association (MACIAF) website if you are a member.

    Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans may be obtained at the office of Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C., 525 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana 46601 at a non-refundable cost of One Hundred and Fifty 00/100 Dollars ($150.00) for each set of documents and plans desired. Requests for Contract Documents and Specifications and Drawings must also include a return street address; post office box numbers are not acceptable. Upon receipt of payment and signed Disclaimer, electronic copy (emailed) and printed copy (sent via UPS) will be provided.

    The General Contractor shall be prequalified by INDOT to perform a minimum of one (1) work type applicable to this project.

    Partial sets of Contract Documents, Specifications and Plans are not available. Questions pertaining to this project may be directed to Mr. Jared M. Huss, PE., Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C. at (574) 234-3167 (Office), 574-370-9041 (Cell), 574-236-1330 (Fax), or email at [email protected].

    All addenda, which may be issued for this Project, will only be issued to each plan holder via email.

    The OWNER reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids, or to make such combination of bids as may seem desirable, and to waiver any and all informalities in bidding. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. NO bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days.

    A certified check payable to the City of Nappanee, Indiana or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid.  The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one-hundred twenty-five percent (125%) of the contract price before commencing work.

    The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period and in addition a Maintenance Bond in an amount of 10% for a period of three years from the date of final completion will be required.

    Each bidder shall be required to complete the Bid Form, in its entirety, included with these documents.

    Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
