INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Chamber of Commerce honored 125 employers from throughout the state Wednesday at the 2023 Best Places to Work in Indiana Awards Dinner, presented by trueU.

Rankings for the organizations were revealed in four categories at the event, which was held in Indianapolis at the Indiana Convention Center.

Coming in at No. 1:

• netlogx, an Indianapolis-based management consulting services firm – small category (between 15 and 74 U.S. employees)

• TrueScripts, a prescription benefit management service in Washington – medium category (between 75 and 249 U.S. employees)

• Centric Consulting, a global company with a growing Indiana presence – large category (between 250 and 999 U.S. employees)

• Edward Jones, a financial investment firm with statewide locations – major category (1,000 or more U.S. employees)

netlogx and Centric Consulting are first-timers to the top spot, while TrueScripts repeats its win from 2022 and Edward Jones returns to the peak for the sixth time.

“The theme of this year’s program was ‘A Kind of Magic,’ which captures the dynamic culture and experiences offered by all of these winning organizations,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar. “Whether it’s workplace benefits, volunteerism, employee recognition programs or mental wellness initiatives, these employers consistently ‘wow’ their teams – and vice versa.”

Best Places in Indiana companies hail from more than 30 cities and towns, with multiple designees coming from Carmel, Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Marion, Plainfield, Warsaw and Washington. In addition, several businesses have multiple Indiana locations.

This year’s winners include companies with Hoosier employee counts (at the time of application) ranging from 15 to 1,300. Out-of-state parent companies were eligible to participate if at least 15 full-time employees are in Indiana.

Honorees and rankings were determined through employer reports and a comprehensive, anonymous employee survey. The Workforce Research Group handled the selection process.

2023 marked the 18th year for Best Places to Work in Indiana. Brinegar is pleased with the program’s staying power and the continued interest from participants.

“The impact on the state’s business community and workforce continues to expand as a multitude of Hoosier businesses and organizations have leveraged survey results from the program to improve their workplaces – and thus the lives of thousands of working Hoosiers.”

Organizations that have displayed sustained excellence during the program’s history receive additional recognition as Hall of Fame designees (those that have been named a Best Place to Work in Indiana at least 60% of the time). Two companies – Edward Jones and KSM (formerly Katz, Sapper & Miller) – have earned a spot on the list all 18 years of the program.

All companies that participated in the 2023 Best Places to Work program receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. In turn, this report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.

In addition to the awards, winners will be recognized via a special section of the Indiana Chamber’s BizVoice® magazine and through Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick – both of which reach statewide audiences. Additional program partners are HR Indiana SHRM, Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Institute for Workforce Excellence, Wellness Council of Indiana and Workforce Research Group.
