Supervisor: Kim Strawbridge, vice president/ retail banking regional manager

What are your job responsibilities? I am responsible for daily teller tasks such as processing deposits, withdrawals, loan and credit card payments, and helping customers with any of their other banking needs.

How has this position been helpful to you?  I have an expanded knowledge in the accounting as well as banking industry which has given me further insight into what I would like to pursue, as well as knowledge to assist me.

What have you learned?  I have learned about financial subjects ranging from the consumer level, business clients, all the way up to the daily tasks of our chief financial officer.

How is this job preparing  you for the future? This job has given me skills such as communication, time management and work ethic that will help me learn and grow as I advance toward a career in the financial industry.

What do you like about this job? I have enjoyed getting to know my customers, coworkers and supervisors because they have all helped me to learn and grow as I challenge myself in this position.

What Career Center classes have you taken in your pathway? Introduction  to Accounting, Honors Advanced Accounting, Principles of Business Management and Work-Based Learning.

Your Career and College Plans: I plan to attend Indiana University in the fall to double major in accounting and statistics while working as an enrolled agent and bank teller. After college, I will become a certified public accountant. I want to become a chief financial officer after working in the accounting and banking industry for a few years.

How is this job preparing this student for the future? She is actually working 100% in a career currently.

What do you think of the WACC Work-Based Learning program? It is a fantastic program.
