NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

    Notice is hereby given that the Town of Silver Lake is conducting a self-evaluation of all Town-owned facilities and programs for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Title II of the ADA requires that each of the Town’s services, programs, and activities be readily accessible and usable by individuals with disabilities.

    The Town is soliciting public input and comments from individuals with disabilities, their caregivers, and disability advocates, on what barriers to access or use of Town facilities or programs exist or are perceived to exist.  This is an opportunity to provide suggestions and comments on how to remove barriers.  All comments will be reviewed and considered for inclusion in the self-evaluation and transition plan.

Hardcopies may be obtained from Town Hall.

    Public comments or survey responses may be dropped off in writing or mailed to the ADA Coordinator (Town Hall, PO Box 154, 604 N. Jefferson St., Silver Lake IN 46982) during normal business hours or provided via email ([email protected]) Comments will be accepted until 4pm, Thursday June 15, 2023.

    The Town of Silver Lake complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Upon request, the Town will provide written materials in appropriate alternative formats, or disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services, to enable individuals with disabilities to participate in public input.  Requests including your name, mailing address, phone number and brief description of the requested accommodation may be submitted at least three (3) business days prior to the close of the comment period to the ADA Coordinator at 260-352-2120.
