Speed May Have Played A Part In Friday’s Crash

Speed was a possible contributing factor to Friday night’s accident in Warsaw involving four juveniles.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, at approximately 9:55 p.m. Friday, Roxanna M. Collins, 17, South Phillips Street, Warsaw, was driving a 2002 Honda Accord northbound on North CR 175E near East CR 200N. Collins stated she was going fast, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. The vehicle exited the east side of the road and went through a field. Collins drove back onto the roadway, then exited the road again, where the car came to rest on an embankment in the yard of 2276 N.?CR 175E.

Collins complained of elbow/lower arm pain.

Three passengers were also injured. Aden J. Patko, 17, East Robby Drive, Warsaw, had a minor burn to the face and complained of rib pain. Kevin A. Maldonado-Orne, 16, East North Winds Drive,?Warsaw, complained of back pain and had a laceration to the right arm. Carli M. Butt, 17, Widaman Street, Winona Lake, complained of head pain and had a laceration to the wrist. All occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.
