Assault Rifle Ban

Congress needs to pass an assault rifle ban. These weapons of mass destruction need to be taken off the street and out of homes and outlawed in the strongest way possible.

People are sick and tired of mass killings, and of the inability of our representatives in Congress to do anything about them.

Gun owners argue that the Second Amendment gives them a right to own assault rifles. When the Founding Fathers enshrined the right to bear arms in the Second Amendment so people could defend themselves and their property, they did not envision assault rifles, and there's no way they could have envisioned the hellscape of mass killings that America would become.

Republicans, under the control of and in service to the NRA and the gun lobby, have allowed assault rifles to proliferate. Guns are the number one killer of children in America, yet Republicans want you to believe they're keeping your children safe by chasing drag queens and banning books.

If you really want to protect children, tell your representatives in Congress to pass an assault weapons ban. Do it for the school children who have been slaughtered beyond recognition, and do it for the kids for whom active shooter drills are part of their regular curriculum, and who are sitting in their classrooms right now in fear.
