Through the end of March, people can drop off food at Menards, 1000 Husky Trail, Warsaw, and it will be donated to the Combined Community Services’ food pantry.

General Manager Blaine Hartzke said the Warsaw location has been doing the food drive for several years and has been donating to CCS for three or fours of that time. When he took over the store, they were all ready donating to CCS and it continued due to the good relationship the store has with CCS.

The food drive is one the things that Menards does Hartzke said he likes because there are people that are struggling in the community and with all the foot travel the store gets, it can possibly help with the issue.

People can drop off food in a red bin the store has right after its registers.

He said some of the items CCS is looking for include peanut butter, jelly, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, macaroni and cheese, boxed dry goods and canned goods.

Last year, the store collected two full boxes of food.

Hartzke said he had worked at several Menards and he’s noticed the Warsaw location has a lot of people that donate.

The goal of the food drive is to create a type of service to get people the help they need, he said.
