CCS Hosts 28th Annual Tools For School July 26
By Staff Report-
This event provides essential “back to school” supplies for students in Kosciusko County, according to a news release from CCS. CCS has partnered with many local organizations to be able to serve families at this one-day event, as well as community members who donate supplies.
This annual event serves more than 1,300 children in the county. The program was designed to ease the burden that families feel when sending their children back to school in the fall. Tools for School helps students to have what they need for a successful school experience and the event saves schools a great deal of money on buying supplies since students arrive with the requested items, the release states.
CCS ask that the Kosciusko County community come together to purchase supplies that can be shared with other families so students can "pick out" their school supplies. Their desire is for school to be a place where kids can go feeling prepared and confident, the release states. Each child should equally feel that their needs for the day can be met and that they are not spotlighted when, for any reason, they don’t have the supplies they need.
Supplies to be donated include colored pencils, markers, composition books, three-ring binders, ruler, protractor and compass, large pink eraser, Elmer’s washable school glue, No. 2 pencils, single-subject notebook (wide and college rule), headphones and ear pods, calculator, highlighter, two-pocket folders (red and green), kids’ soft-handle scissors, 24-count crayons and dry erase markers.
Community organizations who offer services for Kosciusko students K-12 grade and their families may reserve a booth for the Tools for School event.
