Valley School Board Updated On High School Construction Project

AKRON –  Scott Rogers, project manager with The Skillman Corporation, updated the Tippecanoe Valley School Board Thursday about the progress of the high school construction project.

The footings and foundations for the additions have been completed, as has all of the underground plumbing for the pool locker room. The existing floors in the pool locker room have been patched.

There was a crane at the construction site Thursday to help with some of the plumbing, he said.

In the last month, Rogers said the boiler room hydronic pipe routing to the new mechanical mezzanine has been started.

In the next month, he told board members, they are looking to begin work on some interior walls in the locker room renovations and continue piping work for the new additions and corridors. Completion of saw cutting and demolition of the concrete in the pool is planned on being finished in the next month.

Rogers said there have been no changes to when projects will be completed since last month’s update.

Fanning Howey Project Manager Michael Schipp said during the construction project they are looking at doing work on the metal panel/fascia around most of the high school. Rogers said they are hoping to bid that work out sooner than later and will need a roofer to do the work.

Schipp also gave the board options for flooring for the weight room. Superintendent Blaine Conley said he’d like to talk to the teacher that would be teaching in that room.
