WINONA LAKE – Allowing Christ To Shine will hold a concert and a festival June 17 at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center, 610 Wooster Road, Winona Lake.

Since 2012, ACTS has typically had a concert series in the fall, but they decided they also wanted to do one in the summer, said Clark Shepherd, ACTS founder.

The festival, called JoyFest, will be outdoors from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the festival, there will be a number of Christian performers, including Unlikely Disciples, Tabernacle Worship, Amonte King, Anna Bowland, Ryan Zimmer and Amanda Bough - performing.

There also will be bouncy houses and food trucks.

Local pastors Rick Hurley, Winona Lake Community Church; Jeff Pfeifer, Warsaw Community Church; and  Aaron Klein, Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, will be preaching during JoyFest.

The festival is free.

When asked how the concert series got started, Shepherd said for people in the ministry, they just want to be an outreach and hopefully bring people into the light.

Shepherd said people might drive by the MOCC all the time, but they may never go to Grace College. His hope is when people drive by MOCC, it brings back memories of concerts they’ve gone to because they want to help make MOCC a place where people are moved.

After JoyFest, Newsong and Colton Dixon wil perform in concert at MOCC from 7 to 10 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Established in 1981, Newsong has 19 albums and 20 No. 1 radio singles. Songs include “Can’t Keept A Good Man Down,” “Miracles,” “Living Proof,” “Jesus to the World,” “The Way You Smile” and “The Christmas Shoes.”

Dixon finished in the top seven on Season 11 of Fox’s “American Idol.” Songs include “Devil is a Liar,” “My Light,” “Build A Boat,” “More of You” and “Unbreakable.”

Cost for tickets for the concert start at $15 and can be bought at itickets.com or by calling 574-267-0969. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

Shepherd said if someone can not afford the cost of a ticket, to call and they will work with the person. ACTS does not want money to be a barrier to someone seeing the concert.
