PIERCETON - Whether you’re a morning person, afternoon person or night owl, you’ll be able to “Rock Around the Clock” in Pierceton this weekend for the annual Pierceton Days Festival.
The theme for the three-day festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday is, of course, “Rockin’ Around the Clock.”
The planning committee has been working all year to make sure there is something for everyone to enjoy and they hope to see you there, according to a provided news release. It’s a great time to see friends and catch up.
Food options to try this year will include Asian Fusion, Twisted Tiki, Mexican, Hobo Potatoes, BBQ, kettle corn, homemade ice cream and more.
Wristbands are available for $5 per child, per day for unlimited bounce houses.
Vendor applications, corn hole tournament and car show registration, along with parade entry forms, can be found at http://www.piercetonchamber.com/event-forms-and-applications.html.
Cost for the Pierceton Fire Department corn hole tournament is $20 per team. There will be cash prizes and a 50/50 raffle.
Pre-registration for the car show on Friday, July 28 is $10, registration day of show is $15. Make checks payable to Pierceton Chamber of Commerce. Vote for the People’s Choice winner, and ballots can be found at the disc jockey booth. Registration is 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at the tent in the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel parking lot, with judging beginning at 5 p.m. Parking places will be based on arrival. Ind. 13 will be open for parking on the road at 1 p.m.
Cash prizes for Best of Show is $250 and People's Choice is $100 for cars and trucks. Trophies will be awarded for the top 10 in these categories: Car & Truck 1980 & Newer and Car & Truck 1980 & Older.
The parade theme is “Rockin' Around The Clock.” Trophies will be awarded for theme float, antique vehicle, kids unit, marching unit, church committee or other unit.
Jungle Island will be at Pierceton Days from Delphos, Ohio, with a mobile exotic petting zoo. They feature a wide variety of rare and unusual animals from around the world. Visitors can observe, pet and (feed for a small fee) the critters.
The Splat Experience is a Christian performance art ministry by author, speaker and artist Marc Eckel. He will create a painting while presenting a reading of the word of God.
Events will be held at Brower Park and downtown. Ind. 13 will be closed Friday noon until Saturday after the parade.
