Patricia Ileane Shaske

Patricia Ileane Dirck Shaske, 83, of Leesburg, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in Florida after a brief illness.
She was born on July 11, 1939, in Warsaw, and was the daughter of Alden and Zazel Clark Dirck. Patricia was married to Wilmore L. “Bill” Shaske on Oct. 6, 1961, at the First Christian Church, Warsaw.
Patti was a graduate of Warsaw High School in the class of 1957, where she was active in the drama and music departments. She attended the Patricia Stevens Finishing School in Chicago. She also attended Butler University where she majored in music.
Patricia and Bill had a busy life. After getting married, they lived in Olympia, Wash., while Bill was in the Army with the 32nd Division. After military life, they moved to Oconomowoc, Wis., and lived there for many years. In 1973, she joined her husband’s dance band as lead singer and performed as a support percussionist. Pat and Bill left Wisconsin in 1978 and moved back to Warsaw, where they lived for 27 years. She was involved in the banking industry for 18 years. In 2004, they retired and moved to Central Florida where they continued to entertain audiences with Bill’s accordion music and Patti’s beautiful voice.
Patricia had many interests that included travel, camping, gardening, canning fresh fruits and vegetables, reading good books, the ocean and, of course, music.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, Brett (Judy) Shaske, of Warsaw; and Scott (Jody) Shaske, of Pierceton. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Michael Shaske, Christina DeBoard, Chasity (Terren) Raphael, Alisha (Forest) Somers and Joshua Shaske. Patricia had nine great-grandchildren: Matthew Tilden, Lillian DeBoard, Quintin DeBoard, Camden Phipps, Serenity Phipps, Savahanna Somers, Kaiden Somers, Gabriel Somers and Amelia Somers. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald (Nancy) Dirck, of Warsaw; and sister, Lynn (Keith) Pagel, of Springfield, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Jeanine (Ed) Filber, of Leesburg, Fla., along with numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in her passing by both her parents. One sister, Beverly (Robert) Chaney, passed in 2017.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Interment will be in the Bushnell Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
