HUNTINGTON COUNTY - A North Manchester man was killed Sunday in a motor vehicle in Huntington County.
The fatal crash was one of three that occurred in that county over a five-day period. The cause of death in all the cases is multiple blunt force traumatic injuries, according to a news release from the Huntington County Coroner’s Office. All deaths have been ruled accidental.

    Dominick Gill

At 7:23 p.m. Sunday near 6997 W. Ind. 16, Dallas Township, Huntington, Dominick M. Gill, 26, of North Manchester, was operating a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle westbound on Ind. 16 when he went to pass a westbound vehicle, the release states. Gill was in the eastbound lane when an eastbound vehicle, driven by Mercedes Stucky, 24, of Huntington, appeared. Stucky, who was not injured in the crash, attempted to avoid the collision, but Gill’s motorcycle collided with the front passenger side of Stucky’s vehicle and was ejected off the south side of the road.
First responders and law enforcement arrived on scene within minutes of the crash and provided aid, the release states, but Gill succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Huntington County coroner.
Speed and improper passing are considered factors in the case, according to the release. Given the time of the crash, the sun may have played a factor in Gill not seeing Stucky’s vehicle.
Investigation into the Gill crash continues with the Huntington County FAC Team and the Huntington County Coroner’s Office.
According to his obituary, Gill was the son of Daniel Gill, North Manchester, and Karie Cox Bruder, North Manchester. He graduated from Huntington High School in 2016 and went on to work at a nuclear waste plant in South Carolina for three years. He then moved back to North Manchester and has worked at Louis Dreyfus since January 2021.
The first of the three fatal crashes in Huntington County occurred at 12:32 p.m. Wednesday on CR 300W at CR 700N, Clear Creek Township, Huntington.
Frank W. Anzinger, 84, of Huntington, was the operator of a 2003 Toyota Camry that stopped at the stop on CR 700N, then proceeded into the intersection. His vehicle was impacted by a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck, operated by Frank A. Houser, 58, also of Huntington. Houser was not injured.
Anzinger was extricated from his vehicle and ground transported by ambulance to a Fort Wayne hospital where he died Sunday.
The second crash occurred at 8:50 p.m. Saturday on North Etna Road near CR 100N, Huntington Township, Huntington.
Steven K. Miller, 50, of Summitville, was the operator of a 2003 Harley Davidson CVO Softail Deuce motorcycle that was southbound on North Etna Road when, for a reason unknown, failed to negotiate a curve in the road, the release states.
Miller proceeded straight, laying the motorcycle down and was ejected onto a grassy median. He was air transported to a Fort Wayne hospital where he later died.
The following departments assisted in the crashes: Huntington County Sheriff’s Department and Traffic Unit, Huntington County FACT, Huntington County coroner, Huntington City Police, Markle Police Department, Huntington Township Fire Department, Bippus Fire Department, Andrew Fire Department, Parkview Huntington Hospital EMS and Parkview Samaritan helicopter.
