SYRACUSE – Christine Griffith, 70, of Ligonier, passed away on July 18, 2023, at Avalon Village.  
She was born on Feb. 26, 1953, to Harry and Norma Parisi Hendricks. She married David Griffith in 1984 at the Zion Church in Syracuse; he preceded her two days earlier.
She owned and operated a beauty salon for 12 years, then she started her own cleaning business which she operated for 19 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Cantrenia (Stephen) Walker; two sons, James Griffith and Gerald Lee (Nicole) Johnson; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Along with her husband David, she was preceded by two brothers, Danny Hendricks and Rodney Hendricks.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, July 22 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the North Webster Cemetery/Mock Addition.

The Tippecanoe Valley girls’ win on Tuesday night wasn’t the prettiest, but at this time of year that doesn’t matter. The team was able to survive and advance with a victory in the opening game of the 3A Sectional Tournament at Fairfield, pulling away late to defeat West Noble 40-19.
