A Leesburg man is facing a sexual battery charge after being accused of rape.
Paul Jay Comer Jr., 32, of 6908 E. May Lane, Leesburg, is charged with sexual battery, a level 6 felony. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 2:32 a.m. Thursday on a $20,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Thursday, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 hang-up and spoke with a woman who said she was raped by Comer.
An officer interviewed the woman who said she knew Comer for a couple months. On July 12, the woman and Comer had consensual sex. At one point, the woman no longer wanted to continue. Comer allegedly grabbed the woman’s hands and forced himself on top of her. The woman used her legs to keep Comer off her but was unsuccessful.
The woman allegedly told Comer to get off her.
Comer was at the residence after work July 12 and allegedly acted like nothing happened. The woman said she attempted to talk about the incident and Comer allegedly admitted to raping her.
Comer agreed to speak with law enforcement. He said he had consensual sex with the woman and she became angry. He said they both had been drinking when the incident happened. They had sex once and the woman had said no as if to say “no you’re not attracted to me” because Comer had issues during sex. Comer said the woman called Comer back into the bedroom and Comer tried to initiate sex again and the woman said no, according to the affidavit.
Comer said he would never hurt a woman because he has two daughters.
Comer said the woman was drunk and the incident happened because Comer was unable to get more alcohol and the woman allegedly suspected Comer was talking to other women. Comer said he apologized to the woman to appease her.
Comer admitted he is a registered sex offender.
