MILFORD – Eileen Joyce Magiera, 75, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Lake City Place in Warsaw.
She was born July 20, 1947, in Hammond, to Bernice Marie Mucha Hamerla and Theodore Anthony Hamerla. She graduated from Morton High School in Hammond. She was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Syracuse.
Eileen will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren: Alyssa (Gage) Flannin, Hunter (Morgan) Magiera, Austin Dunithan, Preston Dunithan, Hannah Losee, Olivia Losee, Willow Magiera, Corban Magiera and Simon Magiera. She loved Christmas, especially baking cookies and making perogies and, of course, shopping. That white stuff called “snow” always seemed to get her so excited! Also, she enjoyed sewing and crafting; playing bingo and bunko; and watching Hallmark and QVC. We can’t forget her weekly lotto tickets that she had to get.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Anthony Joseph Magiera, of Milford; her sister, Lucille Bosich, of Frankfort, Ill.; her children, Joseph Magiera of Grovertown; Angela (Andrew) Dunithan, of Goodyear, Ariz.; Julie (Eric) Losee, of Merrill, Wis.; and Andrew (Terri) Magiera, of Greenville, Wis.; nine grandchildren. Eileen was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Anthony Hamerla; her mother, Bernice Marie Mucha; half brother, David Mucha; brother, Theodore Anthony Hamerla Jr.
In keeping with her wishes, she participated in the Indiana Donor Program which was followed by cremation. The family celebrated her life with a private gathering.
Memorial Donations may be directed to K21 Health Foundation, 1102 Park Ave., Winona Lake, IN 46590.
Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford, was in charge of arrangements.
