Valley School Board Meets 2 New Staff Members

MENTONE – Tippecanoe Valley School Board was introduced to two new Valley employees during its meeting Monday.
Tippecanoe Valley High School Principal Brandon Kresca said Yannya Guanche will be teaching Spanish at the high school. She moved to Indiana, previously having taught in Miami, Fla. She wanted to be somewhere she and her husband could call home.
She said she believes she has a school family now.
Kresca also introduced Wesley Melanson. He is a Valley graduate and will be teaching math at the high school and one math class at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School.
The board approved Melanson’s hiring Monday.
He said he’s really glad to be back at Valley.
In other business, the board:
• Approved the 2023-24 lunch prices.
• Approved the facility-use contract for Beaver Dam Preschool.
• Approved the real estate lease with Kosciusko County Head Start/Cardinal Services.
• Approved the hiring of Megan Bennett, language arts teacher, TVMS; Amy Lozano, instructional assistant, Akron Elementary; Ryan Adams, bus driver, Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation; Shane Wood, summer tech, TVSC; Caleb Cavender, summer tech, TVSC; Sheila Kindig, summer tech, TVSC; Shelly Bickel, instructional assistant, Akron Elementary; and Melanson.
• Approved the resignations of Emily Gearhart, athletic secretary, Tippecanoe Valley High School; Rachel Haney, reading intervention teacher, Akron Elementary; and Shannon Houlihan, junior varsity softball coach, TVHS.
