County Recorder’s Office Does Not Provide Or Prepare Deeds

By Staff Report-
According to a news release from the Recorder’s Office, “It is strongly recommended that you seek out a real estate attorney to prepare your deed in order to ensure it is done correctly and completely. Preparing or using a deed prepared by anyone other than a licensed attorney is done completely at your own risk and responsibility, and may result in errors that could be more costly in the long run.”
Additionally, the Recorder’s Office no longer provides notary public services. Most financial institutions have at least one certified notary public available. The UPS Store in Warsaw also provides notary services. Notarized signatures are a basic requirement for all recorded documents in Indiana.
Kosciusko County assumes no responsibility for any recorded documents, the news release states. Responsibility lies solely with the preparer, parties and submitter of documents.
If you have any questions regarding these policies, contact Deb Wright, Kosciusko County recorder, at 574-372-2360.
