Jeffrey was born on March 8, 1957, to Winston Earl and Norma Jean Edmond in Chicago. After graduating from Ernest Seaholm High School, he studied packaging engineering at Michigan State University and graduated in 1979, and later received his Master of Business Administration in 1990 from Ball State University.
After graduating from Michigan State, Jeff began his career in orthopedics at Zimmer-Biomet in Warsaw. He met Jane Aylor Clem, and they wed in 1983 on the ninth hold of Rozella Ford Golf Course, Jeff’s home away from home.
In 2012, Jeff and Jane relocated to Florida to be closer to their children, where he continued his career in the medical device industry as a senior executive in quality and validation. After retiring in 2016, Jeff was able to spend most of his time enjoying his favorite hobby, golf. As an officer of The Groves Golf Association, Jeff enjoyed coordinating tournaments with his fellow members, where many friendships were formed. Because of Jeff’s passion for golf, he volunteered for the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) Rating Committee and surveyed and rated courses throughout the state.
As a native Chicagoan, Jeff’s passion for his hometown sports transcended throughout each team. He loved the Cubs and the Bears, but most of all, the Chicago Blackhawks. As a kid, he and his sisters would attend Blackhawks games where Jeff’s passion for the sport and team only grew. Most recently, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of meeting one of his sports heroes, Legendary Blackhawk Tony Esposito, a meeting arranged by his son.
A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Jeff’s priority in life was his family. He spared no expense by always putting them first. He was his family’s number one fan, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and ensured their happiness. He enjoyed frequent family gatherings filled with lots of laughter.
Jeff was a member of the Masonic Lodge #73 in Warsaw, as well as a Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite.
Aside from his love for golf, Jeff was passionate about giving back to his community and those in need. He was always the first to sign up for volunteering at any event. While Jeff left us way too soon, the impact he had on his community will be felt for years to come. Jeff had incredible patience and always made time to help others. He would say it all comes back to us. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes, and the importance of choosing to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service.
Jeff is predeceased in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; his sisters, Jan Smith (Phil), Jill Hyde (Tom); his two children, Bubba Clem and Tara Clem-Zidan (Tariq); and his grandson, Tyler Clem.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
The family requests for those who wish to express sympathy, to consider making a donation to Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals in honor of Jeffrey Edmond.
