WINONA LAKE - A Winona Lake man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a male relative during an argument.

Henry Daniel Williamson, 23, of 2609 Wildwood Lane, Winona Lake, is charged with aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony; domestic battery with serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:41 p.m. Thursday on a $20,250 preliminary bond.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Thursday a Winona Lake Police Department officer responded to a residence regarding a man that had stabbed another man in the neck with a knife.

The officer made entry and found the second man in the kitchen with a serious stab wound to the neck. The man told the officer, according to the affidavit, Williamson had stabbed him.

Law enforcement cleared the remaining areas of the residence and secured the building until a search warrant could be obtained. The man was treated at the scene by emergency medical technicians and flown by air ambulance to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne.

An officer read Williamson his Miranda rights and he agreed to speak with law enforcement. Williamson said he was arguing with the male relative over Williamson’s employment status. Williamson allegedly admitted he stabbed the man with a knife in the neck during the argument. Upon realizing what he had done, Williamson allegedly contacted emergency services, according to the affidavit.

Williamson said the knife was still located in the residence.

A search warrant was applied for and granted for a search of the residence. During a search, the knife was found and taken into evidence.
