By Staff Report-

Lakeland Christian Academy recently held its annual induction ceremony for the LCA Athletic Hall of Fame.

Jamie Koser (Widman), a 2007 graduate, lettered in soccer and basketball all four years of high school.  She was a member of the Association of Christian Schools (ACSI) State Basketball Championship team her freshman season and received Northern Indiana Soccer Conference (NISC) First Team honors her junior and senior seasons.  Jamie helped lead the Cougars to Granger Christian Soccer Cup Championships in both her junior and senior seasons.  She was awarded the “Most Outstanding Offensive Player” and was named “2007 LCA Senior Athlete of the Year”. Jamie and Gabe live locally and have four children.

Bemba Sylla, a 2005 graduate, came to LCA from Mali, West Africa as an international student in October of his sophomore year. Upon arrival, Bemba was immediately…very cold!  But things quickly heated up on the soccer field.  During his junior and senior years, he recorded 74 goals and 21 assists, while leading LCA to ACSI State Championships. During his senior campaign, Bemba helped the Cougars to an undefeated Northern Indiana Soccer Conference record and was named to the NISC First Team in both his junior and senior seasons. He was also an integral part of LCA’s NACA National Championships in Dayton, TN. and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player both years.  Bemba lives in Mali, West Africa with his wife and daughter, where he runs a soccer academy.
