Editor, Times-Union:

Among the lessons my dad taught me was that there is usually another side to a story. At times, however, I have failed to sufficiently heed his wisdom, and, apparently along with others, incorrectly concluded that the McConnells were personally organizing a drag show at their business establishment with it now known that another group was organizing it and the McConnells were merely renting Courthouse Coffee to the group for the event. Given the background of Mr. McConnell, the couple may have found themselves between the proverbial “rock and a hard spot,” possibly fearing repercussions had they declined renting their building for the event.

Since it has been witnessed that intimidation and violence tends to be associated primarily with the left, it was with surprise and disappointment to learn that threats made to the McConnells, their employees and the organizing group were apparently from the right.
