Manchester Council Approves Project Design Contract

NORTH MANCHESTER - At Wednesday night's meeting, the North Manchester Town Council approved a design and bid contract with Jones and Henry Engineering for a wastewater digester upgrade.

The digester upgrade is part of a larger plan to update the town's aging utilities infrastructure.

This contract, which includes design, bid documents and a contract to complete the work, was approved to not exceed $85,800.

The council approved a $44,800 bid with O&R Buildings of Akron for a new storage building for the fire department.

Alex Downard, from Imagine One 85, presented two printed copies of the county comprehensive plan to the council. The plan is over 400 pages and details 85 projects in four main categories: prosperity, housing and community, great places and foundations.

In other business:

• Clerk-Treasurer Carrie Mugford presented 2020 uncashed warrants to be written off after two years.

• The police department is seeking applicants for their clerk position following the death of Jenny Faust, who served the department for 27 years.

• There was a town docket of $688,234.75 and a utilities docket of $320,492.02.

The council will next meet at 7 p.m. March 1.
