AKRON – James W. Carpenter, 83, Rochester, died at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at Life Care Center of Rochester.
Jim was born on May 9, 1940, in Frankfort, Ind., to Chester Ray and Edna Howell Carpenter. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He married to Patsy Cox; she survives.
Military honors will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, performed by the Fulton County Honor Guard at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, performed by the Fulton County Honor Guard.
Memorial visitation will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home. Then a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor Thad Stewart officiating.
Jim’s final remembrance place will be in the Athens Cemetery, Athens.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Fulton County Honor Guard.
